d12 Future Fighting Styles

One of these days I have to find a good system to hack for Alita/Gunnm stuff. Anyway, here’s some stuff for people who think Greg Egan and Peter Watts are neat but also enjoy people yelling the names of their attacks and punching each other. 

1. Dragonheart Style: practitioner uses exhaust heat generated by their turbocharged cybernetics to shoot blasts of superheated air and heat up their strikes to burn enemies. 
2. Eel’s Thousand Tongues: uses electromagnetic mechanisms built into the body to launch conductive projectiles railgun-style, which penetrate targets and draw in the electricity the user releases. Basically what Gunvolt does. 
3. Negative Phantom Style: uses a ludicrously expensive mini-Alcubierre drive to zip around faster than the speed of light before striking, can use the negative matter batteries to fuck with mass and fly. Has a nasty move where they build up a bunch of Hawking radiation and release it. 
4. Cephalobasilisk Dance: body of user is covered in ultrahigh-definition chromatophores like a cuttlefish that flash patterns designed specifically to disorient opponents and make their visual processing software glitch out. 
5. Way Of The Mantis Shrimp: uses negative matter to levitate big globs of water into them and swims around in them, hitting enemies with pile bunker fists that cause supercavitationz
6. Screaming Thunderblade: a sword style that uses a high-frequency electrically charged blade with a hollow center designed to inject superconductive fluid. User cuts into targets, injects the fluid, then releases powerful jolts of electricity. 
7. Obsidian Blood: user has a reservoir of ferrofluid inside their body as well as a robust electromagnetic system used to control it, can form the fluid into armor, shoot it like bullets, cut things with it like a water cutter by pressurizing it, make tentacles, etc. 
8. False Moon Style: made solely for use in VR environments, designed to take advantage of various glitches and exploits in their programming. Basically weaponized speedrunning. 
9. Wallachian Kraken: uses flexible hollow prehensile cables tipped with drills to bore into enemies and suck out their fuel. 
10. Hungry Thorn Blade: swordsmanship combined with a tube-shaped blade that acts as a hive by abrasive nanothorns that emerge and shred through whatever it touches. 
11. Myriad Phoenix Feather: uses a set of engines whose heat is used to superheat disposable blades of various shapes and sizes. 
12. Just Loading Up With As Many Carbon-Fiber Muscles As Possible And Hitting People Really Hard: self-explanatory.
