100 Encounters On The Super-Sargasso
Yep, more pirateposting. I promise I’m capable of writing about things other than pirates. Kind of. Here’s some things for your crew to run into out on the Super-Sargasso.
- Martial artist monks in floating monastery on top of giant turtle.
- Survivors of various different wrecks on a massive raft made by lashing their various lifeboats and scraps of wood together.
- Not actually a giant sea monster, just elaborately decorated to look like one, equipped with fog machines. Crew pretend to be ghosts if the sea monster disguise fails.
- Actual sea monster, “crew” are parasites living inside of it. Captain is just a head growing out of an exposed lump of brain matter.
- Enormous turtle ship (not the kind that’s built on top of a turtle, the Korean kind) being used as a mobile fortress and base for a rebellion. Crew is interested in turning it into a submarine.
- Elite bounty hunters. Their ship is relatively small, but is attached to the top of a giant lobster. Can go over land and underwater and is very dangerous. Crew does not have a cook, as any cook who travels with them is eventually overwhelmed with the desire to boil and eat the giant, delicious lobster.
- Looks like a floating wreck, actually an ambush.
- Looks like a floating wreck, is a floating wreck.
- Single pirate in small boat or raft, encountered improbably far out at sea. Is woefully underprepared but optimistic.
- Single pirate in small boat, extremely dangerous, terrifying, does not need a larger boat.
- Ship attached to a giant turtle. Smaller than the monastery, but the ship is airtight and can submerge. Crew is eclectic and considering a vote on whether they should become pirates or privateers.
- Lone monk meditating on top of appreciably large but not island-sized turtle. Is secretly the grandmaster of the temple ship.
- Submarine that resembles a mechanical turtle.
- Giant human ridden by crew of turtles.
- Time-displaced warship from the future and/or another universe. The larger and more advanced it is the likelier that another faction has already found it and is attempting to claim it. This is a mercy, it means that the players are free to escape or join in on either side, rather than just being blown up.
- Time-displaced yacht. Easy prey.
- Viking longship, led by incredibly skilled mercenary leader who secretly plans on betraying his crew and running away with the loot.

- Appears to be a small building floating on the water, actually the tip of a very tall tower being carried across the ocean floor by a gigantic crab. Full of ornery fish people preying on surface-dwellers.
- Ship crewed entirely by clones of the captain, who was betrayed once and now trusts no one but himself (but does not actually trust himself as much as he thinks he does).

- Enormous temple ship on religious pilgrimage.
- Ship absolutely bristling with weapons, none of which work and are slowly sinking it.

- Ekranoplan piloted by brooding secret agent who just had to kill his mentor and is really not having a great time.
