Gravity Lizards Are Very Intelligent

So, the setup: the players are at a tavern in a worldlet resembling a sphere of ocean water floating in space with tropical islands dotted across its surface, or bands of water floating in space with the islands floating on them. They hear a commotion outside at the docks, and someone bursts in and says that a famous pirate ship has returned.  At the docks, the wrecked form of a ship flying a ragged pirate flag drifts in the distance, slowly limping towards the dock. The dockmaster sends out a tug to pull it over. The ship appears derelict and abandoned, but as the tug workers begin to affix ropes to it, a heavily injured man crawls up from bellowdecks. As the wreck is pulled back, those assembled at the dock can hear the man raving about how he's the only one left and that someone or something is chasing him and is almost there.  As the man is carried back ashore by the tug workers, the island's bell tower rings three times, a signal that its scrying team has detected hostile...

So, orc racism post. I've got three things here, but first, I want to make it clear that I haven't really been involved in this debate before. It's probably pointless for me to get involved, because the grog side has already dug in their heels and committed to bad faith, but I just wanted to get this out there because holy shit the "everything I like is perfect and the communists are trying to censor me" side is really bad at arguing. People have definitely pointed this out already, but the three ways I'm going to look at it here are ways that I haven't seen anyone approach their arguments before (probably because said arguments aren't really worth dedicating this much thought to, and because the people making them aren't going to listen anyway). But here goes.

The Kure Atoll Shells (carved sea turtle shells): These shells  were found in a tide pool in Hawaii's Kure Atoll. Their artistic style does not correspond to any known human culture. They depict a series of scenes showing an anthropomorphic shark and anthropomorphic iguana, both of whom are always shown either wielding various weapons against vast hordes of enemies, drinking large quantities of alcohol, or meditating. The scenes seem to a comprise a Journey To The West-like narrative when put together. One shell-scene shows the two surrounded by what appear to be soldiers in modern gear and several M1 Abrams tanks, one of which has just been sliced in half by the iguana's halberd. 52. This project went way over my original target number, so I ended up splitting it into two posts. Hope you enjoy these! I've been trying to create a loose Mythos-esque sense of continuity between them with some repeatedly occurring themes and implications. 

A bunch of TRPG blogs (rememberdismove, Archons March On, etc) have been doing stuff like this, so I figured I'd revive the blog with one. I ended up reviving it with a bad card game, though. But I'm still posting these because I'm very happy with how they turned out.

Diamond-sea equivalents of arctic animals: giant tardigrade polar bears, silicon-based killer whales, etc. Location kept secret since discovery of it would utterly crash the value of diamonds. Scattered harvesting camps maintained by conspiracy that keeps it secret. 2. Samai : Donut-shaped, moon passes through the hole in the middle. Rotates very fast, day only lasts a few hours. Gravity at the poles is more than twice that at the equator. Intense winds, strong storm systems. The inner ring is a frozen wasteland because it gets so little sunlight. Scattered scientific outposts and hidden treasure. 3. Koora : Covered in ruins that form patterns visible from space. Entire planet is a gigantic “book” of rune-shaped ruins.
